Overview
The emergency unit of Jeewan nursing home & hospital consists of a triage area, consultation and examination area, observation area and minor OT. All patient beds have piped gasses, vacuum and multichannel cardiac monitors. Ventilator support is also available. The emergency is also the nodal point of disaster management in the hospital. It is fully equipped to handle any emergency and resuscitation around the clock. Department of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine Registrars are posted in an emergency by rotation.
Consultants of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine Department is available 24 hours, seven days a week in the emergency unit. The Emergency Department provides care 365 days 24X7 hours. All our Casualty medical officers and Casualty Nursing staff are ACLS-certified ( Acute Cardiac Life Support). We have a dedicated Trauma working group that includes Orthopedicians, General Surgeons and Gynaecologists.
Once stable, patients are either discharged or admitted to the hospital from the casualty area. If a bed is unavailable, the patient, alongside a doctor, is transported by the hospital's ambulance to the nearest hospital.
